A favorite pasttime of mine is making video games in Unreal Engine (and soon Unity!) There are two game jams that I participate in, the first is the Space Force Association Creators League. Shown below are two games (one brand-new one, and a remaster of Normal Golf, a game I made for MoonMoon's semi-annual game jam.

Normal Golf 2.0

Normal Golf 2.0 is my most recent submission to the SFACL.  This challenge was designed to remaster an existing project, and I thought Normal Golf would be a good choice.

For the remaster, I changed the levels to add more length and completely reworked the space level.  Additionally, I fixed some of the bugs I found.

Game Description:

In Normal Golf 2.0 you play as a professional minigolfer on their day off.  You decided to check out this highly-reviewed course, but soon discover that everything is not as it seems.  Can you make it back to normal?

Asteroid Miner

Built for the SFACL Challenge #2: Blast from the Past, this game is a reimagining of  popular 1990s games, like Rampart and Dungeon Keeper, but adapted for space and the modern world!

Game Description:

Asteroid Miner is a fully 3D tower defense game, where you play as the site manager for a small asteroid mining corporation, charged with sending the valuable materials back to Earth. Built fully in Unreal Engine 5, with 3D modeling completed in Blender, and 2D graphics in the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Polar Escape

Polar Escape

For this jam, I took on the roles of Designer, 3D Artist, and Programmer, and I decided to use Unreal Engine 4, since I have the most experience in that engine. 

 

I reached out and contracted two members of MoonMoon's

discord server for music and 2D textures.  I am very happy and proud of what my team was able to accomplish in such a short time.

Game Description:

Polar Escape is a fast paced and energetic runner game where you play as Flipps the penguin, running through the polar bear ice cave.  Flipps’ adventure is not going to be easy, however, as the polar bear cave has always been known for danger.  Whether it’s ice spikes, a sudden pit or turn, or the ferocious growl that all penguins know, Flipps path to survival is unclear.  Grab as many fish as you can to save Flipps’ family!

Escape the Fungeon

Escape the Fungeon

In January of 2022, I had the opportunity to once again participate in the MoonJam.  This time around, the theme was Facade, or Everything is not as it seems. This jam was hosted by popular Twitch streamer, MoonMoon.

For this jam, I took on the roles of Designer, 2D/3D Artist, and Programmer, and I decided to use Unreal Engine 4, since I have the most experience in that engine. 

 

I reached out and contracted the musician from my previous MoonJam for the music for this game. I am very happy and proud of what my team was able to accomplish in such a short time.

Game Description:

Escape the Fungeon is a Top Down 3D dungeon crawler, where nothing is as it seems and you cannot trust what you are seeing. Can you escape, or will you be rendered broken by the slew of enemies?

Normal Golf was my third submission to the MoonMoon game jam. The theme this time was travesty

I once again teamed up with Wobbles, and took on the roles of Designer, 2D/3D Artist, and Programmer, except this time I used the newly released Unreal Engine 5.

 

Normal Golf was highly reviewed by both the streamer MoonMoon, and everyone else who downloaded it, and I'm very proud of it.

Normal Golf is a puzzle-platformer where nothing is as it seems.  You play as John Golf with your son, Billy. Can you navigate through all the levels, and return to normal?
